Base metals futures traded mix during the second half of trading on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) Monday tracking a choppy trade at the LME counter. LME prices were mostly tepid on uncertainty hovering on global market in the aftermath of Japan earthquake and tsumani. Slight gains were seen in lead and zinc.
Aluminium March contract traded at Rs 113.70 per kg, down Re 0.60 and moved in the range of Rs 114.30- 112.40 per kg. Volume was recorded 4,276 lots.
Copper April futures quoted at Rs 419.05 per kg, down Rs 4.55 and traded in the range of Rs 423.10- 415.50 per kg. Total volume so far recorded 68,644 lots.
Lead March traded at Rs 112.60 per kg, up Rs 1.20 and traded between Rs 113.00- 110.40 per kg. Total volumes recorded 12,786 lots.
Nickel March contract traded at Rs 1,168.10 per kg, down Rs 13.60 and traded between Rs 1,180.00- 1,157.50 per kg. Total volumes recorded 28,999 lots.
Zinc March contract traded at Rs 103.70 per kg, up Re 0.70 and traded between Rs 104.60- 102.90 per kg. Total volume recorded so far 15,899 lots.
