Downtrend continued in base metal pack during the early hours of trading on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) Thursday as most metals traded bearish under selling pressure. Copper after hitting six-week low price continued to extend losses. Weakness in equity market also weighed on the sentiment.
Aluminium March contract traded at Rs 115.35, down Re 0.10 at 10:30 am IST and opened the session at Rs 115.35 per kg. It moved between Rs 115.50- 115.20 per kg. Total volume so far recorded at 224 lots.
Copper April contract traded at Rs 421.15 per kg, down Re 0.75 at 10:33 am IST and traded in the range of Rs 422.40- 420.30 per kg. Total volumes so far recorded 6,228 lots.
Lead March contract currently traded at Rs 112.85/kg, down Re 0.40. The session opened at Rs 113.50 per kg and so far fluctuated in the range of Rs 113.70- 113.110 per kg. Total volumes recorded 1,166 lots.
Nickel February contract traded at Rs 1,178.50/kg, down Rs 8.70 and moved between Rs 1,187.90- 1,176.40 per kg. Volume so far recorded 3,165 lots. It had opened the session at Rs 1,185.10 per kg.

MCX crude oil March contract traded at Rs 4,736 [+18.00] a barrel. Far month contracts April and May contracts traded at Rs 4,821 [+26.00] and at Rs 4,880 [+33.00] a barrel respectively.
