Markets of US was flat on Friday; Asian markets were positive

Today, markets across Australia, Gemany, New Zealand, Hong Kong, France and the UK are closed  on account of Easter Monday. Other indices that were trading for the day were mixed at the time of filing this report.Japan's benchmark Nikkei was trading nearly 0.69 per-cent higher at 17,119.40.

Data concluded on Friday showed the Japanese economy contracted at yearly pace of 1.1 per cent in the Dec quarter, compared with a 1.4 per-cent growth in the Sep quarter.

China's CSI300 rose by 0.80 per-cent to 3,223.47. Besides this, other indices, including South Korea's Kospi (up 0.06 per-cent) and the TWSE (up 0.22 per-cent) were trading higher.

Last week Wall Street closed almost flat on Friday, with the S&P500 index falling down by 0.04 per-cent, to 2,035.94, while the Dow Jones industrial average edging 0.08 per-cent lower at 17,515.73. Data on personal spending & pending home sales in the United States scheduled later on today will be keenly watched.Click for stock option tips
