Messenger - Facebook Inc's Messenger app exceeded 800 million users, the company said on Thursday, making it the fastest-growing app of 2015.Messenger, which Facebook created as a stand-alone application in 2014, has more active monthly users than competitors Snapchat & Viber, but still lags the 900 million using WhatsApp.
WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook was one of the 1st apps to let people send & receive free text messages on smartphones, bypassing network charges. Users of Messenger can also exchange messages, but the app also offers free video calling & few business service.
