MENTHA OIL
Mentha oil prices edged higher by 0.53 per cent to Rs 678.40 per kg in futures trade today after speculators created fresh positions amid tight supplies against rising demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July gained Rs 3.60, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 678.40 per kg in a business turnover of 488 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in August moved up by Rs 3, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 696.50 per kg in 126 lots.
Analysts said pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market led to the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
COPPER
Tracking a weak global trend, copper prices declined by 0.44 per cent to Rs 433.10 per kg in futures trading today as speculators offloaded positions.
Further, subdued demand from consuming industries further fuelled the downtrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, Copper for delivery in August moved down by Rs 1.90, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 433.10 per kg in business turnover of 1,957 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in November traded lower by Rs 1.85, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 439.15 in a business volume of 35 lots.
