DAILY NCDEX COMMODITY UPDATE 22 APRIL 2014

CORIANDER 
Coriander prices rose by 1.06 per cent on Monday at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) as a result of the limited stocks on account of restricted arrivals from the major growing belts. At the NCDEX, coriander futures for May 2014 contract was trading at Rs. 9,694 per quintal, up by 1.08 per cent after opening at Rs. 9,640 against the previous closing price of Rs. 9,590. It touched the intra-day high of Rs. 9,746 till the trading. (At 11.45 AM today). 

CHANA 
Chana prices closed lower by 0.85 per cent on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) as a result of the steady sowing progress of pulses along with high supplies in major producing states. At the NCDEX, chana futures for May 2014 contract closed at Rs. 3,141 per quintal, down by 0.85 per cent, after opening at Rs. 3,172 against the previous closing price of Rs. 3,168. It touched the intra-day low of Rs. 3,134. India is the largest producer of chickpea followed by Pakistan, Turkey and Iran. India produces around 6 to 8 million tonnes and contributes around 70 per cent of the total world production.
