SILVER
Tracking a weak global trend, silver prices moved down by 0.56 per cent to Rs 42,985 per kg in futures trade today as speculators partially offloaded positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May moved down by Rs 756, or 0.56 per cent, to Rs 42,985 per kg in a business turnover of 394 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in July declined by Rs 221, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 43,784 per kg in 15 lots.

Market analysts said speculators trimmed positions in tandem with a weak global trend as an improving US economy weighed against Ukraine and that put pressure on the silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver fell by 0.60 per cent to USD 19.86 an ounce in Singapore.
