COPPER
Copper prices rose by 0.38 per cent to Rs 398.60 per kg in futures trade today on a firm global trend and increased domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in April traded higher by Rs 1.50, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 398.60 per kg in business turnover of 554 lots.

The metal for delivery in June edged up by Rs 1.35, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 403.20 per kg in 39 lots.

CRUDE OIL
Taking positive cues from the overseas markets, crude oil futures rose 0.43 per cent to Rs 6,066 per barrel today as speculators enlarged positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil prices for delivery in April traded higher by Rs 26, or 0.43 per cent, at Rs 6,066 per barrel, with a business turnover of 1,245 lots.

In a similar fashion, crude oil prices for May rose by a similar margin to Rs 6,060 per barrel, with a business volume of 97 lots.

CARDAMOM
Amid strong domestic and export demand, cardamom prices rose by 1.02 per cent to Rs 882.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May rose by Rs 8.90, or 1.02 per cent to Rs 882.80 per kg in a business turnover of 254 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in April traded higher by Rs 4.70, or 0.54 per cent to Rs 868.80 per kg in 605 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators on the back strong domestic and export demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from growing regions, mainly led to rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
