Lead futures were up 0.8 per cent at Rs 137.80 per kg on rising spot demand and positive cues from
global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in January traded Rs 1.15, or 0.84 per cent, higher at Rs 137.80 per kg, with a turnover of 339 lots.
The metal for delivery in February also rose by Rupee one, or 0.73 per cent, to trade at Rs 138.75 per kg, in a business turnover of 13 lots.
Zinc prices rose by 1.49 per cent to Rs 129.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh
positions supported by a rise in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in January rose by Rs 1.90, or 1.49 per cent, to Rs 129.40 per kg in business turnover of 1,691 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in February edged up by Rs 1.65, or 1.29 per cent, to Rs 129.90 per kg in 44 lots.
Aluminium prices moved up by 0.73 per cent to Rs 110.90 per kg in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions on the back of increased demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in January moved up by 80 paise, or 0.73
per cent, to Rs 110.90 per kg in a business turnover of 573 lots.

Cardamom futures extended gains for the second straight day with prices surging 0.74 per cent to Rs 682.40 per kg as speculators enlarged their positions tracking firming trend at spot market on rising demand.
Further, tight stocks position in the physical market following less arrivals from producing regions also supported the uptrend. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January gained Rs 5, or 0.74 per cent, to Rs 682.40 per kg in business turnover of 160 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in February traded higher by Rs 1.90, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 704.70 per kg in 45 lots.
Mentha oil prices rose for the second straight session by rising 0.35 per cent to Rs 848.70 per kg in futures trade today on strong demand from consuming industries in the spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January gained Rs 3, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 848.70 per kg in business turnover of 140 lots.
In a similar fashion, oil for delivery in February edged up by Rs 2.90, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 858.80 per kg in 17 lots.
