Gold and oil closed for the week on a higher note Friday amid disappointing US economic reports and lingering concerns over euro zone debt worries. Spot gold added $21.60 to reach $1,514 per troy ounce while US June gold futures settled up $16.50 at $1,508.90 an ounce, after trading between $1,486.40 and $1,515.80, which marked a one-week high.
Increased concern over the economic situation of European countries, prices of gold and silver came in the fast Ratings agency Fitch lowered the rating of Greece.
