DAILY COMMODITY REPORT FOR 19/AUG/2013

Taking positive cues from the global market, silver regained Rs 51,000 per kg level today in 
futuers trade for the first time since April as prices climbed 7.27 per cent to Rs 51,480 per kg 
after speculators enlarged positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver prices for delivery in far-month December contracts 
rose sharply by Rs 3,493, or 7.27 per cent, to trade at Rs 51,480 per kg, a level last seen in April, in business turnover of 51 lots.

The white metal prices for delivery in September too zoomed by Rs 3,646, or 7.82 per cent to Rs 50,219 per kg in a turnover of 498 lots.

Globally, silver gained as much as much 0.8 per cent to $23.18 an ounce in Singapore today, the highest since May 22.

Supported by a firm global trend and increased domestic demand, copper prices rose by 2.15 
per cent to Rs 460.90 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August traded higher by Rs 9.70, or 
2.15 per cent, to Rs 460.90 per kg in business turnover of 5,002 lots.

The metal for delivery in far-month November shot up by Rs 9.65, or 2.11 per cent to Rs 468.20 per kg in 605 lots.

Cardamom prices rose by 1.25 per cent to Rs 767.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions on the back of rising demand in spot market.

Further, restricted supplies from growing areas also supported the upside in cardamom prices at futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September rose by Rs 9.50, or 1.25 per cent, to Rs 767.80 per kg, with a business turnover of 405 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in October edged up by Rs 7, or 0.88 per cent, to Rs 797 per kg in 33 lots.
